Unknown blood ~ the official site

On this page you can find out some answers to questions I get asked a lot. Be sure to check this page before asking me as your answer may be here!

What inspired you to make Unknown Blood?

Well basically Unknown Blood was inspired from a picture I drew for a contest back in may 08. I liked the basic story I made with it and so I decided to make a proper story out of it. And the rest is history XD!
What programs do you use?

Well I use quite a few programs so I'll give you a little list.

Drawing + animating ~ Corel painter X (not free)

Editing + lip syncing ~ Pinnacle studio 11 (not free)

Voice recording ~ Audacity (yes, it is free :P)

Pictures ~ Aiptek Tablet (no, not free XD)

Microphone ~ Trust co. (not free... i think :P)

I get asked this question a LOT so check here before asking thanks!

What Music do you use?

This one is another veeeeeeerrrrrry commenly asked question. For Unknown Blood I mainly use a person called Mike Oldfield for the backing music. The closing song is called Thank you stars by Katie melua and the short opening song is called Aerodynamic by daft punk. I use Linkin park sometimes for my other videos like speedpaints or tutorials but I don't use them a lot as it takes quite a bit of time disputing the form to get the audio back and wastes a lot of time. I would recomend Mike Oldfield any day as his is really good and suits almost every mood of videos (hint hint to any people animating warriors XD).

Can I voice act in Unknown Blood?

It is amazing that so many people would be interested in voicing for Unknown Blood and it makes me feel very happy that people are really enjoying the series. At the moment I don't have any avalible parts as the casting call was held around 6 months ago. However, during the middle of the story there will be a time period of 6 months passing in the story and a whole bunch of pups will be introduced so wait until then and a new casting call will be posted for them. For now though sorry but no :(

How do you animate? I've tried but they are never as good as I want them to be.

Well this is a tricky one to answer even though it's another question that pops up a lot in comments. There is no set way of animating something. There are several programs you an use to animate with including Corel painter (my prefered choice), flash, photoshop or even paint (hard but free XD). The program doesn't really make any difference because animating is never a five minute thing to learn. To give you some idea I animated my first run cycle (my first video on youtube as well) back in march 2008. I have been learning how to get better ever since. I've never read any animation books or used any tutorials. I kinda went my own way as it were XD! But animating needs three main aspects to be sucsessful; Determination, paitiance and a LOT of practice (a little skill never hurt though XD). But again as I said there really is no leason that I can give, you just have to keep trying. My first animations sucked majorly, but now I have improved a little so it doesn't melt people's faces XD. If you want to start animating though, good luck to you!

Where do you get Corel painter from? Is it Free?

This question I find a little bit odd. It's a professional program so the changes of it being free are none XD. Basically, you can get corel painter x (version 12 is out now!) from their official website (you can find by googling) and it costs between 60-100 pounds (about 80-125 US Dollars) so it isn't cheap. It's a really good program and you can get a 30 day free trial from the website, but after that you have to buy =/. Mine was a gift from someone so I didn't pay, but you guys have to pay, sorry n' all. However, Paint.net, MS paint and pencil are all free animation/drawing softwares that are free so you can go and find them if you want something free :3
